350 Transcona Cadets Ceremonial Review

Location Joseph Teres School 131 Sanford Fleming Rd

The cadets provide support and participation for our Branch including Remembrance Day, Decoration Day, and the Poppy Campaign.

We are inviting Veterans from our Branch to witness this event as a sign of comradeship.

This is a formal event so dress for this event is casual business attire, past and current Executive Veterans please wear your Legion Uniform.

If you are interested in attending please provide your name to Les Isaacs by May 30th so seating can be reserved.

Members it is important to come out and be informed on the day to day running of the Branch. Consider becoming a member of the Executive. We have some vacancies that need to be filled and encourage members to participate to help continue to make our Branch the place we welcome not only our Members but the Community as a whole. Your input is very valuable and important.

The cost is $5.00 adult (children over 10 years), children 4-10 of age $3.00 and under 4 are free.

Winnipeg Jets on their Journey to the Stanley Cup

the games on our Big Screen. Please keep us in mind for next year’s road

to the Stanley Cup with our Winnipeg Jets

As football is fast approaching we may have some opportunities for you

to witness the Blue Bombers on their journey to the Grey Cup.

Decoration Day 2018

Decoration Day –  June 3, 2018

Start Time 1:30PM

We honour the Veterans who have returned from various conflicts and lived out their lives in Transcona. The Family and Friends of the Veterans place a cross with a poppy on each grave. There are some Veterans who have no family, we are inviting the community to come down for this ceremony and place the cross on their graves. Our Branch provides the crosses and it is a beautiful sight to see all the graves with the cross.

 

 

The Day will begin with a Service at the

Field of Honour in the Transcona Cemetery

Parade to Cenotaph

 

As a part of this event we take part in a parade that starts at our Branch at approximately 2:30 pm.

We march to the Cenotaph in Memorial Park Circle where another short service is held with the laying of Wreaths to honour the fallen. Those that are unable to march we will have use of our Legion float that holds approximately 10 people, on a first come basis.

You can also drive or walk to the Cenotaph to participate/watch the service.

 

Honours and Awards Night

Start time is 7:30pm. If you have received communication from the Branch about receiving an award

or are a new member and you have not yet RSVP please notify the Branch of your attendance.

Please register for 7:00pm at the main entrance facing Regent.  All members are welcome to attend this event.
