Building Fund – As posted in Transcona Views

Dear Transcona community members:

For over 90 years, members of the Transcona Legion have helped us to remember.

They have faithfully visited our schools each year for Remembrance ceremonies.
They have led thousands of us in parades and services.
They have paid their respects to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.
They have brought meaning and depth to the act of Remembrance.

But now, they need our help.

The flags they use to “march on the colours” are worn out and need replacing.
The foundation of the Legion Hall is in dire need of repair.

In all, they need to raise $50,000 over the next few months to qualify for a matching grant so they can complete the repairs.

For over 90 years, the Transcona Legion has shared themselves with us.

Now we get to say Thank You. Please give generously.

The Transcona Legion will be creating a Wall of Appreciation for donors to this campaign. All donations are welcome!

All donations above $25 will be recognized on the wall with larger areas allocated to larger donations. The contribution levels being recognized are

Cornerstone $2,500+;
Foundation $1,000+;
Beam $500+;
Post $250+;
Brick $100+;
Stucco $25.

You can donate by sending an electronic funds transfer
(ETF) to or in person at the Transcona Legion (117 Regent Avenue East) or by calling the Legion at 204-222-9951 to arrange someone to pick up your donation.

Let’s remember those who remember for us.
